MyMovies.Net Update
Watch "Sex and the City" TrailerHi there! Well "Indiana Jones" has been and gone then?! Breezing through town with nary a 'how do' or a sly nod of appreciation - the fedora-wearing rascal! In all honestly, and despite making more money than God, "Indy 4" was a bit of a let down no? Shia La Beouf swinging through trees?! Lovable CGI rodents popping up at inopportune times?!! Yeah, thanks for that George Lucas! And there's another cherished trilogy you've wiped yourself dry with and cast aside like yesterday's yogurt tops. Damn you Lucas! Damn you and your stupid neck! (seriously have you seen the sight of it lately?!!!).

Anyway, enough of my temper tantrums. With Indy out of the picture the stage is set for four fashionistas from New York to set the Box Office alight. Yep, whether you like it or not, "Sex and the City" is back and bigger than ever! And in order to get the full-fat skinny on this one we corralled Sarah Jessica Parker in to sharing her thoughts on sex, shoes, marriage and the global credit crunch (the last one I made up if anyone's wondering).

Watch the "Chemical Wedding" TrailerOther than Carrie and Co. there's nought else happening really in movie land. OK, there's the (oc)cult offering from Iron Maiden screamer Bruce Dickinson in the form of the weird "Chemical Wedding" - but let's face it, will there be anyone left to watch it after Indy and Ms. Bradshaw divide and conquer the Box Office?! In a rare bout of impartiality I will leave you to decide...and to help you on your way here's a little clip from said psychodelic wedding!

To sign off this week I thought I would share my thoughts on two trailers that have come through the door. First up is "The Happening" and a new R-Rated trailer for M. Night Shyamalan's latest. In fairness this one is hanging on a knife's edge - it could be bobbins or, judging from this trailer, it could be a Twilight Zone-esque frightener with some real balls. Let's prey for the latter. And lastly, here's "Star Wars: The Clone Wars". It looks as if Lucas has done the right thing here by jettisoning off all the actors and replacing them with dead-eyed cartoons (so a like-for-like swap then?!). Until next time my friends...

Watch "Shutter" Behind the scenesHi there and welcome once more to your final destination in movie features and trailers - well, I say 'final destination' it is in fact more like a half way house of horrors whereby the unfortunate reader who stumbles upon this page is then sent an email detailing their gruesome demise. That actually sounds like a decent horror, I might call it 'Spam' and enlist one of those lank-haired, jittery, Japanese ghost types to enliven proceedings. Hang on....did you hear that sound? That's the sound of that idea being shot/packaged/remade/adapted (delete where appropriate) as we speak. Oh well, a man can dream...

Lo and behold, whilst we wait for some Indiana Jones fella to get his whip out next week, we're 'treated' to "Shutter". And yes this is a remake of the blockbusting Thai horror hence the pitiful link at the beginning there folks. Wattered down for a Western palette, "Shutter" sees the blond from "Transformers" and the chubby one from "Dawson's Creek" get in to all kinds of supernatural bother when they discover that their Kodak moments have been spoiled by some pesky spectres. Happens to me all the time. Anyway, here's Joshua Jackson and Rachel Taylor waxing lyrical about this latest remake.

Watch "Sex and the City: The Movie" ReportIn terms of releases this week that's pretty much it - there's "Smart People" (dull as dishwater), "Charlie Bartlett" (bobbins) and the risible "Outpost" (Nazi zombies - and yes you read that right!). So with this cinematic down time we've been hitting up the red carpet this week. Chiefly we tracked down those fashionably fabulous quartet from "Sex and the City" at the World Premiere for this big screen debut. So why not check it out?! It's actually better than most of the films on release this week - and that's a sad fact!

With so much anticipation for the big summer releases I thought that I would end on a high (relatively speaking) by inviting you to partake in the latest trailers for "The Incredible Hulk" and "The Happening" (both out on June 13th). The former sees Bruce Banner (Ed Norton this time around) trying to rid himself of his rage-filled alter ego with the latter throwing up another M. Night Shyamalan conundrum for us to ponder over - what exactly is going on here? And why is Mark Wahlberg seeking answers from a bunch of bus drivers???!!!

Watch "Speed Racer" InterviewSo it comes to pass that a new shadow sweeps the nation, yes the scourge of the interweb is back and giving it bones in the MyMovies Blog. And this week I've mostly been harassing the cast of "Speed Racer" - the Wachowski Brothers uber colourful and ultra cheesy adaptation of the (in)famous anime. Fast cars, fast women, tons of adoring fans.....sounds not unlike Margate seafront?! But this effects heavy offering seems to be already stalling at the starting grid of this summer's blockbuster race. Weighted down by those pesky critics and Wachowski naysayers "Speed Racer" may not have enough juice in the tank to take on "Iron Man's" behemoth opening firgures. One fella who's sitting comfortable though is Emile Hirsch, his star appears to be rising no matter what vehicle he finds himself in! And we caught up with the young blighter to talk all things Speed Race-ry...

Watch the "Ashton and Rob Corddry" InterviewAlso out this week is "What Happens in Vegas"...to which I say "not much - other than the usual rom-com shenanigans". Ashton Kutcher and Cameron Diaz find themselves hitched and $3 million better off after one night in the City of Sin (and I still fail to see what the problem is here?!). As it turns out they both hate each other making any post nuptial bliss hard to come by and thus setting in to motion some fairly low-brow high jinx. Points are awarded for effort though and there are some hearty laughs to be had. Indeed when I cornered both Ashton and Rob Corddry they were in fine form and eager to deliberate the merits of cooking boil-in-the-bag rice in a 9 man steam shower (as you do).

Watch "Neil Marshall" InterviewNot content with unleashing a pack of werewolves on us and allowing us to fend for ourselves in a cave full of bloodthirsty creatures, Neil Marshall is back and bringing the noise in "Doomsday". OK, so the film is slightly gubbins but kudos again for trying and Marshall has earned the right in my book to try this sort of genre blending thing. That and you have actual cannibals listening to the Fine Young Cannibals which, not to put too finer point on it, is a stroke of genius. Mr. Marshall was even on hand to big up his latest and drop a hint as to any future sequel!

Well I will love you and leave you with a veritable rogues gallery now of the summer's big hitters (quite literally in one case). New trailers galore! So you have Carrie Bradshaw, The Joker and Hancock. I make that Pim's o'clock!

MyMovies.Net Update
Huzah! For it is I- blogging all over the place and ruining the upholstery once again. Not that any of you actually read this thing (at this point I'm pretty sure that I'm just talking to myself...no change there then?!) but now that I've started this damned thing I may as well finish it.

Watch "Iron Man" Press Conference reportIt's official ladies and gents - the summer is upon us. If not in an actual sense then in the cinematic use of the word its all up in our face giving it bones. And front and centre is "Iron Man", the metal clad purveyor of justice is first in line to take a swing at the global box office today and it's rather good don't you know. In fact it's pant-wettingly good but then you probably already suspected as much what with Robert Downey Jr. filling out the famed titanium suit as the cheeky chappy, Tony Stark. We all know the age-old story of billionaire industrialist turned saviour of the world but why not let the stars themselves tell you all about it with this Press Conference. Pah! A man invents a weaponised suit of armour to fight crime?! I could do that...I just choose not to.

Watch the "Nim's Island" InterviewOf course, not all of you will be up for the idea of a billionaire prancing about in a mechanised suit - at least two of you will want to watch a nice family film and for that couple there's always "Nim's Island". A mildly entertaining fantasy this featuring, of all things, a prat-falling Jodie Foster (I know, I was just as surprised as you are!). This little tale sees Foster rush to the aid of the titular Nim (child acting savant Abigail Breslin) whose father (Leonides from "300") has been shipwrecked some miles off the coast of their tropical paradise. But don't worry...there's an emotive lizard on hand for some comic relief (isn't there always?!?). Anyway, I managed to corner Foster in a room and rather than hit the panic button she actually stuck around to talk about her latest role.

Watch "Made of Honour" Premiere ReportBringing up the rear in the race for hearts and minds this week both actually and figuratively is "Made of Honour". If Downey Jr. is made of Iron this week then "Enchanted" star Patrick Dempsey is made of honour (did you see what I did there?). Formulaic fluff but it will no doubt find an audience - Dempsey was even foolhardy enough to stop and chat at the UK Premiere of his latest and talked of being attacked by a horde of insects. Funnily enough this actually sounds like a more watchable concept than the best friend-gets-the-girl mulch on offer here. In fact Made of Honour could rather be a reference to Dempsey's courage under threat of the invading insectoid horde - now that I'd pay to see!
